I’m off schedule. It’s been 16 days since my last post. Some things I meant to write about before today:

Street art. Many Brooklyn bloggers post about things found in the neighborhood. I almost had the scoop on an interesting art project but was beaten to it by A Brooklyn Life (and probably other blogs). On Court street there’s an installation of sticky notes which invites local residents to answer questions about the size of their apartment, how long they’ve been living in it, and what they pay. It’s part of Windows Brooklyn. Here is a close up shot. These people are getting a deal. Candy Chang, the artist, has more photos.

Transportation. People are very opinionated about the subway. In the winter, during flu season, I’ve been told its better to stand in the middle of a car than on the ends. The air sucks in at the middle and vents out at the ends. If you’re tall, the vented germ air is blown in your face. I’m not tall so I don’t worry about this too much. I like this subway photograph, it makes me a little proud even though a thousand New Yorkers have taken one just like it.

Marriage. One year down. This is what we looked like in sepia on June 9, 2007. The sepia came later – on the day I wore green and he wore grey. Our photographer/nephew is older than I am and can be hired for non wedding work here. I like being married.

Taking advantage of New York. I’ve been doing things. Lately it’s been gardens, craft fairs, concerts and such. But I forget things I’m not writing about here. Like just now I remembered a bead reorganization project which slightly inspired me to make better jewelry. I think I’ll be happy when I look back and take stock. I would have liked this show more if I wasn’t one of the 10 oldest people there.
